Another chapter in 1500 days of nature, wildlife and outdoor discoveries, featuring Days 732 to 1096 of the challenge

The latest collection from my Daily Nature Photo Challenge, celebrating 1,500 consecutive days of wildlife, nature, landscapes and outdoor discoveries.

Continuing the journey of #IansDailyPhotoChallenge, this third collection shares another year of nature, wildlife and outdoor discoveries from the challenge.

From colourful seasonal scenes and memorable wildlife encounters to the quieter details that can so easily be missed, the book celebrates the variety and beauty of the natural world throughout the changing seasons.

Created to encourage a greater appreciation of nature and the countryside, the book reflects the simple joy of taking time to slow down, look closer and enjoy the world around us.

Following a public poll, the Fly Agaric photograph emerged as the winner of the Book 3 cover poll and became the official cover of the book.

The other four finalists attracted plenty of support too, so all five cover versions are now available. Each contains exactly the same photographs and content, with only the cover image differing between editions.

Whichever photograph was your favourite, you can choose that cover version below.

In case you were wondering, the fly agaric was the winning cover choice.

End of summer doesn’t mean the end of seeing things

End of summer doesn't mean the end of seeing things There is sometimes a feeling that once summer starts to disappear, so does much of the wildlife and colour that comes with it. The butterflies become less frequent, the flowers start to fade, the days get shorter and...

Three Walks, Three Photos and Why We Keep Exploring

Three Walks, Three Photos and Why We Keep Exploring There is something rather nice about going for a walk without really knowing what you are going to find Sometimes you have a particular destination in mind Sometimes you have a route you know well And sometimes you...

Hello Autumn

Summer might be ending, but exploring doesn’t have to

Summer might be ending, but exploring doesn’t have to There is something about this time of year that can make it feel as though our opportunities to get outside and discover things are starting to disappear The days are getting shorter, the evenings are drawing in,...

From Daily Photographs to Three Books

From Daily Photographs to Three Books When I started my Daily Photo Challenge, I certainly wasn't thinking about writing books The original idea was simple enough - take one photograph every day, get outside, keep looking, and see where it took me What started as a...

The Story Of My Challenge

The Story Of My Challenge

30 Days Wild Might Be Over… But Don’t Stop Looking

For June, alongside my Daily Nature Photo Challenge, I set myself a mini challenge for #30DaysWild. The idea was simple. Spend a month paying a little extra attention to the smaller things that are easy to miss. Not rare wildlife or perfect photographs, just everyday...

#30DaysWild – A Wet and Windy Reminder

I must admit, when I woke up this morning and saw the weather, I wasn't expecting much. In fact, I had every intention of working, but the rain soon decided it had other ideas! One of my few jobs of the day did produce a nice surprise though. I spotted a mullein moth...

Cow Parsley and the Joy of Looking Closer

Over the next few days our temperatures are set to rise, and with that comes one of my favourite seasonal spectacles along local footpaths and hedgerows. Cow parsley season. For many people it is simply the white blur that appears everywhere in late spring...

Early May and Everything Starts Moving

Some days just build as they go on. This morning started simply enough, a look over the ceanothus and straight away there was plenty happening. Bees already hard at work, moving steadily from flower to flower, one in particular absolutely loaded with pollen and not...
